Society Championship - May 2011

Certain member feedback has resulted in looking at a long haul trip for our competition above. The idea is to travel to Myrtle Beach, SC.

An example itinerary would be as follows:

Date - Sat 30th April to Sat 7th May, this takes in May Bank Holiday so only 4 days off work.

Fly from Manchester to Myrtle Beach, with one stop at either New York or Atlanta, depending on airline.

Package to include 7 nights accommodation at Hilton Plantation Resort, 1 SUV for every 4 persons and 5 rounds of golf at Long Bay, Litchfield, Willbrook, Aberdeen and Blackmoor. 2 rounds to form a Ryder Cup competition, 3 rounds for the Society Championship.

The response from the majority of members seems fantastic, but it is easy to say “yes” and I need commitment. I have listed below the members I believe have said “yes”. If any members have changed their mind than I need to know asap.

Evan Bale, Mike Bower, Bill Carpenter, Steve Clarke, Alan Davies, Steve Doran, Phil Draper, Barry Dreaves, Mike Horrocks, Les Hurst, Mike Kirkland, Lew Compton, Ian Milne, John Nelson, Glen Randles, Dave Watson, Dave Whitaker and Mark Campbell.

There are also a couple of non members who would like to join us. So all in all there may be 20 golfers. Should be fantastic!

I will be booking flights around July time, so start saving!!!
